Finding that Balance

Updated: Feb 11, 2019

Happy 2019!

Happy New Year! I can’t believe we are in 2019 already. Time is just flying by and I’m just here trying to hold onto these motherhood moments with my little man as long as possible. He is growing up way too fast and I can’t handle it. :’(

It’s been a while since my last blog post so I figured I would give this a try again. New year, new me right?

I don’t want to blog just to be labelled a “blogger”. I want to blog to share and document my thoughts so that I can look back and reflect as well as be able to share it with my son once he’s old enough to read and understand. I want him to know what his mommy was feeling or thinking. I want our relationship to be open, honest, trusting and full of love.

My son was not in daycare yet in my last post. He started daycare on the first day of school (September 4th) and since then, life has been H E C T I C.

From dropping him off at daycare, going to work and then picking him up (which usually involves me rushing out of work to get him before the daycare centre closes), I hardly have time for anything else. Once we’re home, it’s a rush to make dinner for all of us while he plays around and then it’s feeding time, bath time, reading time and then bedtime. A lot of the times, well, more like 90% of the time, I end up passing out with him as well. I always say to myself, “I will do such and such as soon as he falls asleep” but never end up accomplishing anything. There are those rare nights where I am able to stay awake but then I end up staying up way too late and am tired for work the next day. I usually just try to accomplish my personal tasks or Moms & Minis related tasks on my breaks at work. I do have a lot of help from my partner and his mom when I am unable to drop my son off or pick him up from daycare; which is great. We have a routine where whomever starts work later would drop him off and the early starter person would pick him up. This is so beneficial on days where I can start work early and also leave early enough to get some grocery shopping in, complete errands or personal tasks, start making dinner, or just clean the house before having to pick the little man up. I do enjoy every second I spend with my little man though, even if he keeps me on my toes constantly or even if I never get a minute to just breathe.

So how do you moms do it? Especially the blogger moms. I can barely get a good shower in let alone maintain an active blog/website and perform mom duties. How do you maintain the balance and still be able to post such gorgeous pictures of your family or your perfectly clean house? Tell me your secrets!!

I applaud all you moms! We are all multi-tasking superheroes trying to wing motherhood and raise the best human(s) possible. Being a mom is definitely one of the hardest job titles; but it is so worth it. ❤ I may not have a lot of time to do any extra-curricular activities for myself or hang out with my friends as much, but I am able to be a mom. I view it as there will always be another time to accomplish your tasks or get stuff done but you will never be able to get back the time to spend and be present with your kids during their growing and learning years. I love being able to witness and celebrating in all of his milestones. I love being able to watch as my son learns a new skill or says a new word. My heart just explodes and beams with pride to be able to watch him grow. I wouldn’t give up our precious bonding time for anything in the world.

One day you will look back and realize it is the little moments in life that matters the most and has the most lasting impact.
